Making Photonics Chips for Life

Monday 3rd December 2018, 1100 CEST

40 minutes duration + Q&A

DESCRIPTION

The 2nd edition of the PIX4life webinar series demystifies fabrication of photonics chips for life science and healthcare applications. The focus of this webinar is fabrication of photonic integrated circuits (PIC) in the PIX4life pilot line. Participants will be introduced to the fabrication aspect of the PIC value chain. The fabrication technology platforms of the pilot line foundries, imec and LioniX, will be described.

The webinar will attempt to answer the following questions:

  • What is a typical fabrication flow for PIC?
  • What is LioniX’s TriPleX platform?
  • What is imec’s BioPIX platform?
  • Which technology option is best suited for which application?

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

The webinar is relevant for anyone who is interested in photonic integrated circuit (PIC) technology for lifescience applications. This webinar is a general overview of the PIC fabrication technology used in PIX4life project. There is as such no prerequisite minimum qualification requirement.

PRESENTERS

The webinar will be presented by Adil Masood and Andim Stassen, both from imec (Belgium), and Douwe Geuzebroek from LioniX (Netherlands).
